After we painted the brick white, the ugly red roof stuck out like a sore thumb. It’s been driving ME CRAZY since the house was painted. We wanted to do a black roof to tie in with the back doors and window frames.
We got two quotes on having the roof replaced. It was higher than I expected for such a small roof. I talked to a few friends in the biz and decided to try a different approach.
I ordered all of the supplies myself from a discount (but factory new) roofing supplier and found a roofer that would work hourly and not by the job. I was able to cut the cost of the roof in half. Ordering my own materials saved $750 by itself. It’s crazy the mark up on this type of work.
